GauSatv ("we," "our," or "us") operates India's intelligent dairy management platform, including our IoT collar devices, the GauSatv SuperApp, SpecX Ultra milk quality testing systems, and the QualiX dashboard platform (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information about you when you use our Services — including our mobile application, website at www.gausatv.com, connected hardware devices, and any related software.

How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To operate, maintain, and improve our dairy management platform, including processing milk collections, delivery routing, and herd health monitoring.
- AI & Analytics: To generate AI-powered insights such as personalized cattle feed recommendations, heat cycle predictions, mastitis alerts, and productivity benchmarks.
- Payments & Transactions: To process milk procurement payments, manage subscription plans, handle wallet top-ups, and generate farmer payment reports.
- Health Alerts: To send real-time notifications about animal health events detected by IoT collars (e.g., illness indicators, breeding windows, feeding anomalies).
- Quality Assurance: To record and report milk quality test results from SpecX Ultra devices, enabling transparent procurement and fair pricing.
- Customer Support: To respond to inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and communicate important updates about our Services.
- Legal & Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and government requests, and to protect the rights and safety of GauSatv, our users, and third parties.
- Research & Development: To improve our algorithms, develop new features, and enhance the overall platform using aggregated, anonymised data.
IoT & Device Data
Our Smart IoT Collar and SpecX Ultra devices continuously collect sensor data from your cattle and milk collection points. Please understand how this data is handled:
- Real-Time Transmission: Collar sensor readings — including activity levels, rumination patterns, and heat cycle indicators — are transmitted to our secure cloud servers via GSM/Wi-Fi.
- Data Ownership: You, as the farmer or dairy operator, retain ownership of your cattle and farm data. GauSatv acts as a data processor on your behalf.
- Aggregated Benchmarking: We may use anonymised, aggregated sensor data across our network to improve breed-specific productivity benchmarks and algorithmic accuracy. This data is stripped of all identifying information before use.
- Milk Quality Records: Test results from SpecX Ultra devices are stored and linked to the specific milk collection session. These records may be shared with cooperative societies, dairy companies, or regulators as part of procurement transparency requirements.
- Device Security: All IoT devices use encrypted data transmission. Firmware updates are delivered securely and automatically to patch vulnerabilities.
Note on animal data: Information about your cattle (health records, productivity data, genetic information) is treated with the same care as personal data and is never sold to third parties.
Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform (e.g., cloud hosting providers, SMS gateway providers, payment processors). These parties are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Dairy Cooperatives & Buyers: Milk quality and quantity data may be shared with dairy companies or cooperatives you are registered with, for the purpose of accurate milk procurement and payment.
- Veterinary Partners: With your explicit consent, health records and IoT alerts may be shared with veterinary professionals you connect with through the GauSatv SuperApp.
- Government & Regulators: We may disclose data to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or requests from government authorities, including the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) or FSSAI where required.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- Aggregated Research: We may share anonymised, aggregated insights with agricultural research institutions or industry bodies to support the development of India's dairy sector.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law:
- Account Data: Retained for the duration of your active account plus 3 years after account closure, for legal and dispute resolution purposes.
- Milk Quality & Transaction Records: Retained for 7 years as required under applicable Indian financial and food safety regulations.
- IoT Sensor Data: Raw sensor telemetry is retained for 2 years. Processed health insights and alerts are retained for the life of your account.
- Usage & Log Data: Retained for 12 months for security and performance monitoring purposes.
Upon account deletion, we will anonymise or delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption on our cloud infrastructure.
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorised GauSatv employees on a need-to-know basis.
- Our systems undergo regular security audits and penetration testing.
- OTP-based two-factor authentication is used for all farmer and partner logins.
- IoT device firmware uses secure boot and encrypted communication channels.
Data Breach Notification: In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware, in accordance with applicable Indian data protection guidelines.

As a GauSatv user, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.
- Right to Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information about you.
